Portrait of Dan Bowman

I’d like to share a glimpse into my background to give you a better understanding of who I am and the journey that shaped me. My father is Georgian, and my mother is from Columbus, Ohio. They met in the United States, where I was born — but my early years were spent overseas. I was raised in Tbilisi, Georgia, by my aunt, who married an East Indian. Growing up in a multicultural household exposed me to both Georgian and Indian traditions, values, and perspectives — a foundation that has deeply influenced how I approach life and work.

After completing my studies, I returned to the United States and settled in Texas. I hold a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and later specialized in subsea engineering — a field that perfectly blends my passion for innovation and exploration. My career began in pipeline engineering, but I soon transitioned into subsea operations, where I’ve spent more than a decade working on offshore rigs, overseeing deep-sea installations, and safeguarding the integrity of critical systems. I’m also a certified commercial diver, which allows me to perform underwater inspections and repairs — a skill that’s vital to ensuring operational safety and success.

My work has taken me across the globe. I’ve visited over 40 U.S. states and countless offshore sites worldwide, each experience broadening my perspective and deepening my expertise. I’m passionate about continuing that journey and look forward to exploring even more places — perhaps with someone special by my side.

Today, as a Subsea Commercial Diver and Rig Engineer, I find immense fulfillment in what I do. This career constantly challenges me — demanding precision, patience, and adaptability — while also fueling my love for technology, adventure, and problem-solving. For me, it’s more than just a profession; it’s a calling that combines engineering excellence with real-world impact beneath the surface of our oceans.
